I supported and encouraged people of all ages to get the most out of life. A wide range of crafts has enriched my life, for example, basketry, card weaving, stool, cane and rush seating, stained glass design and wood carving.
An interest in world affairs and overseas travel has enabled me to see how other people have adapted clothing to their particular climate and terrain.Membership of Embroiderers Guild (East Lothian).

![]() Clothing, fabrics and design are our main interests. When combined well they are comfortable, comforting, sensible or frivolous. The clothes that we choose fit us well for the lives we lead. Clothes also remind us of people who are special to us. (Auntie Mildred's clothes are often seen on a rail!)
Each person has particular clothing requirements - a young mother needs extra ease across the back of the shoulders to enable her to pick up the baby - while a wheelchair user will probably find unfussy sleeves and a shorter jacket more comfortable.
Whatever our lifestyle, clothing can be used to lift our mood, give us confidence and also allow us to merge into a grey world if that is what we wish. How refreshing that we are all different!
